Dr Stephen Iacoboni, oncologist, has created an inspiring book, a collection of his experiences with cancer patients and “…the lessons of life and love he learned from them.” Dr. Iacoboni hopes The Undying Soul will “serve as a tribute to my patient-guides,” and provide a primer for prople facing life’s last and greatest mystery… and for those who travel with them, solace and comfort on their own most difficult journey.Dr. Iacoboni often formed close personal bonds with his patients. The picture on the right shows him with a patient that became a very good friend. There was always time for laughter and in-depth communication when the two were together.

Dr. Stephen Iacoboni underwent fellowship training in medical oncology at the prestigious University of Texas MD Anderson Tumor Research Institute in Houston, Tx, 1982-1984. He was presented with the Most Outstanding Research Fellow award for his scientific investigations, and then joined the faculty the following year.  He subsequently entered private practice and co-founded the St. Mary Regional Cancer Center in Walla Walla, Washington, where he practiced for 16 years. Thereafter he continued his oncology career as medical director of the Kootenai Cancer Center in Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho, where he practiced from 2001 through 2010. He now practices in Kennewick, Washington, as the co-medical director of the Kennewick General Hospital Hematology-Oncology program.
